Biology Honors

Course Description:
The honors program provides an inquiry approach to the study of life science. The course is centered around laboratory investigations and focuses on the topics of cell life and function, genetics and evolution, ecology and the theme of homeostasis.

Unit Structure:
Glenbard students enrolled in Biology Honors will experience an NGSS-based curriculum designed to provide students with an enriching exposure to science and engineering practices while incorporating disciplinary core ideas and crosscutting concepts.  Major concepts include the process of inquiry science, biochemistry, cell processes, homeostasis, major organism types, genetics, evolution and ecology.
