Educational Support Personnel

Administrative Procedure – Educational Support Personnel Retirement Stipend

Eligible educational support personnel:

(1)  having a minimum of ten (10) consecutive full-time years of service with the District immediately preceding retirement under the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund Program; and

(2)  who fall within one of the following specific job classifications:  Secretary to Superintendent, Secretary to Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Student Services, Secretary to Assistant Superintendent for Business, Secretary to Assistant Superintendent for Educational Services, Secretary to Director of Special Education, Human Resource Coordinator, Payroll Coordinator, District Accounts Coordinator, Community Relations Coordinator, Facilitator for Business Operations, Secretary to Principal, District Network Technician, PowerSchool Administrator, District Network Operations Administrator, District Data Specialist, District Student Information Specialist, Director of Buildings and Grounds, and Director of Information Technology;

(3)  who are not covered by a collective bargaining agreement,

shall receive a stipend equal to twenty percent (20%) above the employee's base wages for the preceding year inclusive of any wage scale increase (if applicable). The twenty percent (20%) stipend will be spread equally over the employee's last year of service.

In order to receive the stipend, an Irrevocable Notice of Retirement must be received in the Human Resource Office between May 1st and July 1st of the year prior to retirement.  The employee's retirement must be effective at the end of a semester or at the end of a school year. Twelve (12) month employees also may choose retirement effective on June 30th.

Educational support personnel falling within one of the job classifications identified above shall not be eligible to receive this stipend unless all of the requirements of this policy are satisfied, and an Irrevocable Notice of Retirement is given on or before June 30, 2013, with an effective retirement date no later than June 30, 2014.  In no event shall any employee who began service on or after January 1, 2012, be eligible to receive the stipend under this Board Policy.
