Administrative Procedure – Physical Contact and Corporal Punishment of Students

Any employee who utilizes physical contact with a student of a type regulated by the Board of Education’s Physical Contact and Corporal Punishment of Students shall report the incident in writing to the Building Principal.

The report shall state the date, time, and place of the incident, the name of the students involved, the names of any witnesses and a very brief summary of the incident. The report shall be made not later than the first weekday after the incident. It is the intention of this regulation to require reporting of physical contact between students and employees that might reasonably lead to a claim by the student or his/her parent(s)/guardian(s) that the contact was improper or that the contact caused injury to the student, as well as contact initiated for disciplinary or restrain purposes.
