Glenbard Township High School District 87 serves meals each school day. Students may purchase lunch each day at the regular price. Students may receive meals free or at a reduced price subject to the following Federal guidelines. The reduced price is 30 cents for breakfast and 40 cents for lunch.
If you receive food stamps or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) for your child(ren), your child(ren) may receive free meals. If your total household income is the same or less than the amounts in the USDA Income Eligibility Chart, your child(ren) may receive free meals or reduced-price meals.
A foster child may receive free or reduced-price meals regardless of your income. Please complete a separate application for each foster child.
All meals served must meet the U.S. Department of Agriculture meal requirements. However, if a child has been determined by a doctor to have a disability and the disability would prevent the child from eating the regular school meal, the school will make substitutions prescribed by the doctor. If a substitution is needed, there will be no extra charge for the meal. If you believe your child needs substitutions because of a disability, please call our food services manager at 630-469-6500 Ext. 4266.
To receive free or reduced-price meals for your child, you must complete an application and return it to the school. We cannot approve an application that is not complete.
How to apply:
If you receive food stamps or TANF for the child(ren) you are applying for, the application must have the child(ren)’s name, a food stamp or TANF Case Number (Link card number cannot be used) for each child(ren), and the signature of an adult household member. If you are applying for a foster child, the application must have the child’s name, the child’s “personal use” income, and an adult signature.
If you do not list a food stamp or TANF case number for the child(ren) you are applying for, then the application must have the child(ren)’s name, the names of all household members, income information, the source of that income, the signature of an adult household member and that adult’s last 4 digits of their Social Security number. If the adult does not have a Social Security number, you must check the box stating “I do not have a social security number.”
Federal and Household Guidelines are established by the Federal Government and must be strictly adhered to.
