Glenbard District 87 Seeks Applicants to Fill Board of Education Vacancy

The Glenbard Township High School District 87 Board of Education is accepting applications from district residents interested in being considered for appointment to fill a vacancy on the seven-member Board of Education. The individual selected will serve through the April 2027 election.

Interested candidates must complete and submit an online application [link here]. All applications must be received no later than 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Friday, February 13, 2026.

Residents who applied for the Board vacancy in August 2025 and wish to be considered again are encouraged to reapply. The reapplication process has been streamlined; interested individuals should contact Assistant to the Superintendent and Secretary to the Board of Education, Donna Gastel, [email protected] for additional information.

Applications will be reviewed by the Board of Education, and selected applicants will be invited to participate in interviews. Interviews will take place during the Board’s evening meeting on March 9, 2026, in closed session, after which the Board is expected to approve the appointment.

The newly appointed Board member is expected to be sworn in at the regular Board meeting on March 23, 2026.

Basic eligibility requirements for Board membership are outlined in the application materials. Applicants should be aware that submitted materials may be subject to disclosure in accordance with the Illinois Freedom of Information Act.
