COVID-19 dashboard updated
We updated data on our COVID-19 dashboard. The dashboard is updated each Monday that school is in session.

CDC outlines what to do if you are sick
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention provides tips for steps to take to prevent the spread of COVID-19 if you are sick.

If you are sick with COVID-19 or think you might have COVID-19, follow the CDC steps below to care for yourself and protect other people in your home and community.

  • Stay home. Most people with COVID-19 have mild illness and can recover at home without medical care. Do not leave your home, except to get medical care. Do not visit public areas.
  • Take care of yourself.Get rest and stay hydrated. Take over-the-counter medicines, such as acetaminophen, to help you feel better.
  • Stay in touch with your doctor.Call before you get medical care. Be sure to get care if you have trouble breathing, or have any other emergency warning signs, or if you think it is an emergency.
  • Avoid public transportation, ride-sharing, or taxis.

Quarantine reminder
When a positive COVID-19 case is identified at school or school events/athletics, our staff follow the Illinois Department of Public Health’s guidance when determining who is a close contact and needs to quarantine. Please note that, under the current guidance, when someone is fully vaccinated and not showing symptoms, they are not required to quarantine. This is an important factor to consider for those who are not yet vaccinated against COVID-19.

Theatre fund-raiser to offset production costs
Glenbard West Theatre is hosting a Krispy Kreme doughnuts and signature coffee fund-raiser. Proceeds will help pay for the production costs for the 2021-22 theatrical season.

Place your order at this link. All orders must be placed by 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31.

Pickup is from 3 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, on Glenbard West’s Circle Drive and from 8 to 9 p.m. (end of open house) in front of the Glenbard West auditorium.

Parents invited to West Nation newsletter folding
Glenbard West parents are invited to the West Nation newsletter folding at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, in the Facilities Center, which is by the tennis courts.

Parents assist in assembling the newsletter while interacting with other Glenbard West parents. It is a great time to ask questions and find out what is happening within West Nation and Glenbard West. Principal Peter Monaghan will be the guest speaker on Sept. 1. You can also learn about the Glenbard Parent Series and upcoming GPS speakers. Feel free to stay as long as your morning permits.
