Students earn journalism awards
Congratulations to the following Glenbard West students who earned awards at the Illinois Journalism Education Association state competition:  best infographic – Maariya Quadri, 1st place; best website – The Glen Bard Staff – 2nd place; best multimedia story package – Aarthi Mallavarpu and Francesca Di Domenico, 3rd place; best sports photo – Sam Schoettle, 3rd place; best sports news story – Logan Lawrence, honorable mention; best in-depth news story – Ethan Parab, honorable mention; best photo gallery/photo slideshow – Francesca Di Domenico, Janie Blatchford, honorable mention; and best alternative storytelling – Maariya Quadri, honorable mention.

Congratulations to girls track and field state qualifiers
Congratulations to the following students who qualified for the IHSA girls track and field state final meet: Glenbard East students Robin Lenoir in long jump and Keeli Dunaway in long jump and triple jump. Molly Gstalter is head coach. Glenbard North students Taylor Finke in long jump and Grace Schager in the 3200m and 1600m. Keilen Bonner is the head coach. Glenbard South student Gianna Huerta in the 100m and 300m hurdles. Dan Bledsoe is the head coach. Glenbard West students Audrey Allman and Nina Wintermute. Kelly Hass is the head coach.

Congratulations to Glenbard North student Dan Housour on earning a medal for 5th place on the vault at the IHSA boys gymnastics state final meet. Dennis Wellman is the head coach.

Health experts cite www.covid.gov as an excellent one stop resource for:

  • Information about vaccines
  • Where to find free high?quality N95 masks in the community
  • Locations with the ability to test and provide treatments for individuals who are at high risk for severe disease, and
  • Order free at?home COVID?19 tests.

Health department offers health safety reminders
The DuPage County Health Department offers reminders to manage and prevent severe illness related to COVID-19, such as:

  • Staying up to date with COVID-19 vaccines and boosters.
  • Staying home and getting tested if you have symptoms.
  • Washing your hands often or using a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol, especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
  • Increasing air flow and maintaining improved ventilation throughout indoor spaces when possible. Spending more time outdoors and in well-ventilated settings.
