Glenbard’s music program receives national recognition

Glenbard District 87 received the Best Communities for Music Education designation from The NAMM Foundation for outstanding commitment to music education for the second year in a row.

The Best Communities for Music Education recognition is awarded to school districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in efforts to provide music access and education to all students.

“The fine and performing arts are vital to the fabric of a comprehensive high school. In Glenbard, we value these programs and recognize the life-changing impact they have on our students and the unique ways they bring our communities together,” said Superintendent David Larson. “Thank you to our students, faculty and staff for their significant work in the area of music education. Also, many thanks to our community, which is very supportive of our fine and performing arts program.”

School districts were evaluated on their graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, funding, support for the music program and community music-making programs.
