  1. Congratulations to Glenbard North’s Kelly Dailey for earning a 2026 Those Who Excel Award from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE). Dailey received the Award of Special Recognition in the Student Support Personnel category. This distinguished program honors valued members of the school community who are recognized by colleagues, students, families, and administrators for the skills, passion, and dedication they bring to their work. Dailey is one of five Glenbard staff members being honored this year. The group will be formally recognized at an awards banquet in Bloomington-Normal on Saturday, April 18.

  2. We had more than 50 community members in attendance at our kick-off Career Exploration Committee meeting on Wednesday night, including students, staff, business leaders, community members, parents, and COD leaders including Dr. Siddiqqi, new College of DuPage (COD) president. The meeting was hosted by Jason Klein from NIU and featured robust discussions about career exploration, workforce trends and Glenbard initiative in this area. Our second meeting is this upcoming Wednesday, March 11 at 5:30 p.m.

  3. Our licensed staff participated in a variety of professional learning experiences at the Countywide Institute Day on Friday, February 27. Activities included large department-specific countywide conferences for math, English, PE, social studies and world language with a variety of speakers and sessions, as well as “Tour the Trades” to learn more about trade opportunities for students and other sessions led by the DuPage Regional Office of Education.

  4. On Tuesday, March 3rd, Glenbard South hosted the 7th-annual Glenbard District 87 College and Career Fair. This year’s event featured a record-breaking 126 organizations, including universities, trade schools, military branches, and career groups – the largest collection of institutions in the fair’s history. Students from all four district schools and the Directions Program engaged with representatives to explore diverse post-secondary paths. We are already looking forward to next year’s fair!

  5. In February 2026, First Student acquired Cook Illinois, a service provider currently responsible for transportation services at Glenbard West High School. Following the acquisition, district administration met with the new leadership team to review the transition, discuss potential opportunities, and clarify what this change means for the district. It is our expectation that the terms of the existing emergency contract will continue to be honored and that all service commitments will remain unchanged, ensuring there are no disruptions or modifications to transportation services for the duration of the contract.

  6. We are continuing with the process of filling the Board vacancy. We held in-person interviews tonight of five candidates. The selected candidate by the Board of Education members will be sworn in at the March 23, 2026 meeting.

  7. The district received the following donation: St. Charles Singers, $300.00 to the choir program at South.

– Consideration of a Resolution Providing for the Issue and Sale of Not to Exceed $75,545,000 of General Obligation Bonds Approved by District Voters at the March 19, 2024, General Primary Election and Providing for the Levy of Taxes to Pay the Bonds. Following the successful referendum in the spring of 2024, which authorized the issuance of $183 million in bonds, we issued our first round of bonds ($60 million) in March 2025. Based on updated cash flow projections, we are recommending issuing approximately $75 million in bonds to fund the upcoming projects for this summer and next school year. Mr. Bob Lewis (PMA) and Mr. Tom Crabtree (Stifel) presented to the Board of Education on February 9, 2026.

Board appointment of Tod Altenburg to fill vacancy on the Board of Education. The Board announced that Tod Altenburg will be appointed to fill the vacancy on the seven-member Board of Education. Altenburg will officially join the Board at its March 23, 2026 meeting.

BOARD INFORMATION/DISCUSSION ITEMS INCLUDED:

– Resolution of the Board of Education Directing the School Treasurer to Transfer Funds from the Operations & Maintenance Fund to the Debt Service Fund. The Illinois Program Accounting Manual (IPAM) requires that all debt expenditures, principal and interest, be paid out of the Debt Service Fund (Fund 31).

DuPage County levies tax dollars for Glenbard’s previously approved referendum debt. Glenbard cannot levy dollars for non-referendum debt, such as our Alternate Revenue Source Bonds, etc. Therefore, we need to make a permanent fund transfer from the Operations & Maintenance Fund (Fund 20) to the Debt Service Fund (Fund 31) to ensure there are sufficient dollars on hand and the Debt Service Fund does not go into a negative position.

A permanent fund transfer of $2,064,365.00 is required at this time to support operating debt payments.

– policies & procedures for first reading & discussion. 7:180 Prevention of and Response to Bullying, Intimidation, and Harassment; 7:255 Students Who are Parents, Expectant Parents, or Victims of Domestic or Sexual Violence (NEW); 7:255-AP1 Students Who are Parents, Expectant Parents, or Victims of Domestic or Sexual Violence (NEW); 7:340 Student Records; 7:340-AP1 School Student Records; and 7:340-AP2 Storage and Destruction of School Student Records.
