1. We are collectively committed to systematically align the Profile of a Glenbard Graduate six competencies to our academic, athletic and extracurricular programs, specifically to:

  • be self-empowered,
  • communicate,
  • think critically,
  • embrace diversity,
  • create, and
  • collaborate.

2. We are collectively committed to respecting, encouraging and supporting each student and their individual unique background and life experiences to achieve their education goals. By prioritizing equity, we aim to build an environment where diversity is affirmed and families are valued as esteemed partners of our school community.

3. We are collectively committed to fostering a safe learning community and ensuring a culture of equity and belonging in all that we do, specifically through intentional:

  • academic programming and instructional practices
  • wide array of activities and athletics
  • student leadership opportunities
  • hiring the most qualified staff that reflect the diversity and experiences of our communities and student body.

4. We are collectively committed to closing both opportunity and achievement gaps with all of our students, as measured by: the reduction of barriers to access, enrollment numbers, and achievement in coursework, meeting benchmarks and achieving expected growth on national standardized exams.

5. We are collectively committed to ensuring a course sequence that articulates a pathway to personal success for every student, ensuring that students are prepared to succeed in both college and the workforce, with a focus on increasing early college credit opportunities and career experiences.

6. We are collectively committed to continually improving our systemic placement processes to challenge all students to take the most appropriately rigorous coursework, starting as an incoming 9th grade student through senior year in all course areas based on standardized placement data, informed family consent and prior course success.

7. We are collectively committed to implementing research-based practices to support student well-being through improving self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. 

8. We are collectively committed to the highest standard of instructional and assessment practices in every classroom, every day, with a specific focus on:

  • alignment to high-leverage national standards,
  • provide deep learning experiences which intentionally develop the six Profile of a Graduate competencies in our students, assess with authentic performance tasks, and focus on Webb’s Depth of Knowledge Levels 3 & 4: Strategic and Extended Thinking,
  • opportunities for productive struggle through challenging, complex texts and tasks,
  • differentiation in the classroom with a focus on student choice, student ownership, innovation and authentic learning opportunities,
  • structured interventions for relearning opportunities within an articulated Multi-Tiered System of Support,
  • alignment of formative to summative assessments, reflecting research-based grading practices,
  • timely, meaningful, and authentic feedback and reflective practices,
  • leverage instructional technology, such as AI, as a powerful learning tool.

9. We are collectively committed to supporting every student to be fully prepared to make informed decisions as they pursue their individualized postsecondary plan by providing a clearly articulated postsecondary curriculum in 9th through 12th grade, including a commitment to a wide array of academic programs and multiple opportunities for college and career exploration for every student

10. We are collectively committed to hiring educators who embody the characteristics of the Profile of a Glenbard Educator, one who advocates, empathizes, adapts and learns, embraces diversity, innovates, and collaborates. We are committed with these educators to a culture of collective efficacy through professional development  and Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to drive student learning. 

11. We are collectively committed to investing in our resources, specifically our programming and facility improvements, in order to support student achievement in all areas and provide a safe and productive school environment that supports the educational success of our students while maintaining fiscal responsibility. 

12. We are collectively committed to a culture of continuous improvement which leads to student growth and achievement through intentional systems in the areas of:

  • assessment literacy
  • Professional Learning Communities
  • data-driven practices
  • middle school articulation and collaboration
  • instructional technology
  • professional development
  • reflective evaluation processes
  • school safety protocols and systems
