Important resources and dates for the start of the 2025-26 school year

As we begin a new school year in Glenbard, we want to ensure our families are aware of important resources that can support a successful and positive start for all students. Here are some key dates, resources and links to keep on your radar:

* August 28: Open House at all Glenbard high schools
Glenbard families are invited to our annual Open House on Thursday, August 28. This is a great opportunity to hear from school counselors, walk your student’s schedule, meet their teachers, and learn more about course content and other school programs.

• Glenbard East = 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
• Glenbard North = 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
• Glenbard South = 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
• Glenbard West = 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

* October 22-23: Parent Teacher Conferences
Parent Teacher Conferences will occur on Wednesday-Thursday, October 22-23 at all four Glenbard schools. Conferences will run from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on October 22, and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on October 23.

* PowerSchool and Schoology
Glenbard District 87 uses PowerSchool and Schoology to provide families with up-to-date information about grades, attendance, and class work for their students.

PowerSchool is the student management system for Glenbard District 87 and contains all student grade and attendance data. Students and families can view grades, scores, and schedules in PowerSchool.

Schoology is our learning management system that enables students, families and teachers to engage with learning materials and their school community from the classroom and beyond. With Schoology, students can view course materials, submit homework assignments, review grades, participate in discussions, receive announcements, provide feedback, take tests, and more. Families can view their student’s activity within Schoology, including homework, due dates and other important class information. Student progress and activity is monitored by faculty to ensure a safe, secure, and controlled environment.

Though some grade information may appear in Schoology, PowerSchool is the official gradebook of record. Families may elect to receive daily or weekly Schoology updates and PowerSchool reports via email.

* PushCoin
PushCoin is Glenbard’s point of sale system – a secure and user-friendly platform to manage payments for school fees, cafeteria purchases, fundraisers, and other district-related expenses. PushCoin also offers payment plans for registration fees.

What are the benefits of PushCoin? 

• Families can see the student’s purchase history including items from the cafeteria, field trips, yearbooks, and other school-related web store items. 
• Families are able to add funds to the student’s accounts at any time using any mobile device. 
• Every transaction is tracked and able to be seen.
• Families are able to transfer funds between students.

GPS Parent Series event to explore sibling dynamics and student success

Superintendent for the DuPage County Regional Office of Education Amber Quirk is showcasing a book by New York Times reporter Susan Dominus titled “Family Dynamic: A Journey into the Mystery of Sibling Success”.

Dominus will be in conversation with noted best-selling author and clinical psychologist Lisa Damour for virtual GPS events on Aug. 26 at noon and 7 p.m. Participants will learn how parents and siblings fuel success to help children thrive.
