Directions Program Information

The Glenbard Directions Program offers a pathway to graduation for dedicated students who are looking to reconnect to school, while acquiring experience in a career or technical education program as part of their high school curriculum.

The Directions Program is designed to provide a smaller, more personalized school setting, credit acceleration, student goal setting, and preparation for career and college goals through the Technology Center of DuPage (TCD).

Students are recommended for the Directions Program by their Glenbard serving school. After receiving a recommendation, the student and parent will participate in a screening and interview process prior to acceptance into the program.

Students will be given opportunities for direct group instruction, credit acceleration and coursework through Technology Center of DuPage (TCD) in one of 17 college/career programs. Schedules vary depending on student interest, remaining graduation requirements, and openings in TCD courses.

Once students are accepted into the program, they participate in a three-part day:

  • Part 1: Smaller classrooms with reduced class sizes and increased personalized instruction
  • Part 2: Online courses taken in our computer labs
  • Part 3: Technology Center of DuPage

Students are expected to:

  • Attend every day and arrive on time
  • Complete all coursework successfully
  • Actively participate in planning for coursework and future goals
  • Conduct themselves in accordance with Glenbard District 87 and TCD behavioral expectations
